The new iStent® laboratory implant from Glaukom Laboratories is currently the smallest implantable device in the human body.
iStent® allows to reduce and control the intraocular pressure in cases of glaucoma, being able to reach a 30-40% reduction in relation to the initial pressure.
This allows for better pressure control, a reduction in the dependence on drops for glaucoma control and, as a result, an improvement in eye health and quality of life.
The iStent implant operation lasts just a few minutes, is performed under local anesthesia and may be combined with cataract surgery.
